HTML5 <footer> Tag
Browser Support
The <footer> tag is supported in all major browsers.
Definition and Usage
The <footer> tag defines a footer for a document or section.
A footer typically contains the author of the document, copyright information, links to terms of use, contact information, etc.
Footers are typically placed at the bottom of a document. However, this is not required.
A document/section can also have more than one footer.
Differences Between HTML 4.01 and HTML5
The <footer> tag is new in HTML5.
Tips and Notes
Tip: Contact information inside a <footer> element should go inside an <address> tag.
Global Attributes
The <footer> tag also supports the Global Attributes in HTML5.
Event Attributes
The <footer> tag also supports the Event Attributes in HTML5.
