The <section> tag is supported in Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari.
Note: Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions, do not support the <section> tag.
Definition and Usage
The <section> tag defines sections in a document. Such as chapters, headers, footers, or any other sections of the document.
Differences Between HTML 4.01 and HTML5
The <section> tag is new in HTML5.
Global Attributes
The <section> tag also supports the Global Attributes in HTML5.
Event Attributes
The <section> tag also supports the Event Attributes in HTML5.
