JavaScript setUTCFullYear() Method


Date Object Reference JavaScript Date Object

Definition and Usage

The setUTCFullYear() method sets the year (four digits), according to universal time.

Note: This method is always used in conjunction with a Date object.

Syntax

Date.setUTCFullYear(year,month,day)

Parameter Description
year Required. A four-digit value representing the year
month Optional. An integer between 0 and 11 representing the month
day Optional. An integer between 1 and 31 representing the date

The setUTCFullYear() method is supported in all major browsers.


Tips and Notes

Tip: The Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) is the time set by the World Time Standard.

Example 1

Set the UTC year to 1992:
