Style background Property
Style Object
Definition and Usage
The background property sets or returns up to five separate background properties, in a shorthand form.
With this property, you can set/return:
- background-color
- background-image
- background-repeat
- background-attachment
- background-position
The properties above can also be set with separate style properties. The use of separate properties is highly recommended for non-advanced authors for better controllability.

Tip: The default value for the background property is: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%.
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| color | Sets the background color of an element |
| image | Sets the background image for an element |
| repeat | Sets how a background image will be repeated |
| attachment | Sets whether a background image is fixed or scrolls with the page |
| position | Sets the starting position of a background image |
