Definition and Usage

The mysql_free_result() function frees memory used by a result handle.

This function returns TRUE on success, or FALSE on failure.

Syntax

mysql_free_result(data)

Parameter Description
data Required. Specifies which result handle to free. The result handle is the return from the mysql_query() function

Tips and Notes

Tip: PHP automatically releases the memory used by result handles at the end of the script. However, this function can be useful when you want to free up memory between large queries.
