Complete PHP MySQL Reference
The mysql_free_result() function frees memory used by a result handle.
This function returns TRUE on success, or FALSE on failure.
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| data | Required. Specifies which result handle to free. The result handle is the return from the mysql_query() function |
Tip: PHP automatically releases the memory used by result handles at the end of the script. However, this function can be useful when you want to free up memory between large queries.
