Definition and Usage

The strcmp() function compares two strings.

This function returns:

0 - if the two strings are equal
<0 - if string1 is less than string2
>0 - if string1 is greater than string2

Syntax

strcmp(string1,string2)

Parameter	Description
string1	Required. Specifies the first string to compare
string2	Required. Specifies the second string to compare

Tips and Notes

Note: The strcmp() function is binary safe and case-sensitive.
