The data property sets or returns the text of an element or attribute.
Syntax
textNode.data
Example
The following code fragment loads "books.xml" into xmlDoc using loadXMLDoc() and outputs the text from the first <title> element:

x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("title")[0].childNodes[0];
document.write(x.data);
