Definition and Usage

The setUTCSeconds() method is used to set the seconds of a specified time according to Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).

Syntax

dateObject.setUTCSeconds(sec,millisec)

Parameter Description
sec Required. A numeric value between 0 and 59 representing the seconds
millisec Optional. A numeric value between 0 and 999 representing the milliseconds

Tips and Notes

Note: If one of the parameters above is specified with a one-digit number, JavaScript adds one or two leading zeros in the result.

Note: This method is always used in conjunction with a Date object.

Tip: The Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) is the time set by the World Time Standard.

Example

Set the seconds of the current time to 01, with setUTCSeconds():
