DOM Node prefix Property
The following code fragment uses the xml file: "bookstore.xml".
Example
Return the prefix of the second attribute of the documentElement object:
xmlDoc.documentElement.attributes[1].prefix;

Definition and Usage
The prefix property sets or returns the namespace prefix of a node.
Returns null if the the specified node does not have a namespace.
The prefix property is an XML property, and is not indended to be used in HTML documents.
Browser Support
The prefix property is supported in all major browsers.
Syntax
Set the namespace prefix:
node.prefix=prefix
Return the namespace prefix:
node.prefix
