Tip: Use it together with the <del> tag to describe updates and modifications to a document.

Optional Attributes

DTD indicates in which DTD the attribute is allowed. S=Strict, T=Transitional, and F=Frameset.

Attribute Value Description DTD
cite URL A URL to another document which explains why the text was inserted STF
datetime YYYYMMDD Defines the date and time when the text was inserted STF

Standard Attributes

id, class, title, style, dir, lang, xml:lang
