The <hgroup> tag is supported in Internet Explorer 9+, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari.

Note: Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions, do not support the <hgroup> tag.


Definition and Usage

The <hgroup> tag is used to group heading elements.

The <hgroup> element is used to group a set of <h1> to <h6> elements, when a heading has multiple levels (subheadings).


Differences Between HTML 4.01 and HTML5

The <hgroup> tag is new in HTML5.


Global Attributes

The <hgroup> tag also supports the Global Attributes in HTML.


Event Attributes

The <hgroup> tag also supports the Event Attributes in HTML.
