Definition and Usage

The type attribute specifies the Internet media type (formerly known as MIME type) of the media resource.


Browser Support

The numbers in the table specify the first browser version that fully supports the attribute.

Attribute Values

Value Description
media_type Specifies the Internet media type of the media resource.

Common media types:
For video:
  • video/ogg
  • video/mp4
  • video/webm
