Definition and Usage

The hypot() function returns the length of the hypotenuse of a right-angle triangle.

Syntax

hypot(x,y)

Parameter	Description
x	Required. Length of side x
y	Required. Length of side y

Tips and Notes

Tip: The hypotenuse of a right-angle triangle with sides of length x and y is equivalent to sqrt(x*x + y*y).
