About PDF Text Extraction
This tool reads the text layer stored inside the PDF. It works on PDFs that were created digitally (from Word, a website, an invoice system, and so on).
Scanned documents and photos saved as PDF have no text layer - they are just images. For those, use the Image to Text (OCR) tool instead.
PDF parsing is performed by the open source PDF.js library from Mozilla (Apache 2.0 license).
