JavaScript getTime() Method
JavaScript Date Object
Definition and Usage
The getTime() method returns the number of milliseconds since midnight of January 1, 1970
and the specified date.
Note: This method is always used in conjunction with a Date object.
Syntax

The getTime() method is supported in all major browsers.
Examples
Example 1
Return the number of milliseconds since 1970/01/01:
