Definition and Usage

The autofocus property sets or returns whether a datetime field should automatically get focus when the page loads, or not.

This property reflects the HTML autofocus attribute.

Note: The <input type="datetime"> element does not show any datetime field/calendar in any major browsers, except Safari.


Syntax

Return the autofocus property:

datetimeObject.autofocus

Set the autofocus property:

datetimeObject.autofocus=true|false

Property Values

Value Description
true|false Specifies whether a datetime field should get focus when the page loads, or not
  • true - The datetime field gets focus
  • false - Default. The datetime field does not get focus

Return Value: A Boolean, returns true if the datetime field automatically gets focus when the page loads, otherwise it returns false
