Example

Make sure the text is no longer than 10 characters:

Definition and Usage

The truncatechars filter truncate the value if it is longer than the specified number of characters

If a value gets truncated, the value will add three dots (...) at the end of the string.

Syntax

{{ value|truncatechars:number }}

Template filters are defined by using a pipe | character followed by the name of the filter.

Arguments are defined by using a colon : character followed by the argument value.

number Required. A number specifiying how many characters are allowed.
